Course Menu Overview
Login and PasswordsLogin and Passwords:
- All teachers and students will be created an account for their elearning site.
- The created login and password will be the same.
- The login for each user will begin with the school district's six digit state ID. The remainder of the login will be the firstnameinitial and then the last name. The combination of the six digits, firstnameinitial, and lastname cannot exceed 15 characters.
- The password that was created is the same as the login.
- When logging in for the first time, all users should change their password. See below.
- Open up your elearning website.
- After that website is open, select preferences command. The preferences is located in either the left hand column or the right side of the window.
- Select change password command.
- Type in your current password
- Type in a new password and then confirm that password.
Enrolling In A Class In order that students might be able to enroll for your course, they must have both a PIN Code and the Course ID Number . Steps the teacher must follow:
Part 1: Setting PIN Code
- Open up your elearning website.
- Open up the class that you want to setup for your students.
- With the class open, select the Tools tab.
- Select the command in the right column entitled Pin Enrollment Settings
- Put in a Pin word or number. This Pin word or number you will share with your students prior to their enrollment in your class.
- Set the dates in which enrollment is allowed.
Part 2: Idenifying Course ID Number
- After you have logged into your domain - ie http://esu10.elearning.org, the courses you will offer will be listed.
- Move your cursor over the name of a class.
- At the bottom of the browser/web page, will be the address for the course link that your mouse is pointing at.
- After the = sign at the end of the link will be the course ID. Note that the course ID will always begin with your 6 digit school ID number.
Steps a student must follow to enroll in a class:
- Login to the elearning website.
- Select the preferences menu. This is located on the left hand column or the right side of the window.
- Select the My Page Content command.
- Scroll down to the section Available Items and select the Enroll By Pin command. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the Save button.
- Your homepage will now have the Enroll by Pin box. Highlight the words Course/ID and replace it with the name of the class you wish to enroll into. Your teacher must give you the name of the class. Click on Enroll
- You will then be asked to put down the PIN for that class. Your teacher will provide you with the PIN.
- You will now have that class added to your menu.
- Click on that class and enter into the course.
