I2 Introduction Ideas

I2 is supposed to be available to Project 42/Tri-Valley Consortium on July 1, 2004. On July 13-15 I am hosting my annual introduction to distance education workshop entitled 'Syncing It All Together'.

One day during that three day conference, I want to devote some time to Internet 2. Some ideas I have related to that include:

• I would like this to be like a ribbon-cutting event.
• I would like to invite some notable statewide representatives:
  • have invited Rep. Osborne to attend. He has not acknowledged attendance as of yet.
  • someone from state government
  • someone from UNL/Network Nebraska
  • others?????
• I would invite the news media - local and state.
• I would like to set up some demonstrtions:
  • national connection
    • UNL
    • NASA
    • Megaconference Jr. partner
  • international connection
    • I have visited with someone from Columbia about I2. Columbia is not a current member but is seeking membership. We hope that we can make this or a different type of connection.
