Tri-Valley Distance Education Consortium was awarded a Career and Technical Education Grant - July 2002 through June 2003.

Overall Goal: To provide career and technical edcucation opportunities for students and teachers by identifying and sharing educaitonal resources over the Tri-Valley Distance Education network.

Objectives:

Objective 1: To increase understanding of the distance education system to career and technical education teachers in support of regular career and technical education instruction.

Objective 2: To identify local, regional, and state resources who will present career and technical education enrichment lessons using the distance education system.

Objective 3: To increase collaboration between staff and students at participating schools, career and technical education teachers will develop and present to other vocational classes enrichment lessons using distance education.

Participants:

Vocational educators in Tri-Valley Distance Education Consortium, ESU 7, 10, and 11.

Activities:

  • September - October, 2002: Vocational meetings at the ESU level and NDE fall trainings. To present an overview of enrichment opportunities that will be available to vocational classes during the fall and spring semesters 2002-03.
  • April 2003: Vocational meetings at the ESU level. Post project evaluation of enrichment offerings.
  • June 2003: Vocational distance education summer training. (Note: Limited to 20 teachers with 5 teachers from each discipline area) A preview of the summer offering can be seen at http://tvdec.k12.ne.us/grant/LevelIReg.htm
