The annual meeting of the Tri-Valley Distance Education Consortium was called to order by President Gene Haddix.

Schools in Attendance: Amherst, Centura, High Plains (Clarks), Cozad, Elba, ESU 7, ESU 10, ESU 11, Franklin, Greeley, Minden, Ord, Overton, Pleasenton, Ravenna, NLSoctia, SEM, Shelton, Wolbach, UNK

1. 2001-02 Budget Proposal
Franklin moved that the proposed budget be approved. Elba second. Passed 20-0
Discussion: With only 50% of last year’s budget being spent, might consider reducing the budget and lowering annual dues.

2. 2001-02 Officer Election
ESU 7 moved that a unanimous vote for those individuals listed on the proposed ballot. Centura second. Passed 20-0

3. TVDEC membership request (Litchfield - St. Paul)
Centura moved that Litchfield and St. Paul be accepted as members into TVDEC. Ord second. Passed 20-0

4. Coordinator report -
John Stritt, TVDEC coordinator, gave the following report.

• Changes in DL in the future will include statewide connectivity, statewide video and audio standards, and more.
• As the equipment at each school had only a one year warranty, each school should budget for equipment failure and repair. Using a 10% rule of $30,000 original cost, each school should build a dl maintenance fund of about $3,000 per year.
• We would like to put together an updated directory of where the IP phone systems are located within each school. That directory will then be posted online.

5. Next scheduled Annual Board Meeting - Thursday of administrator days.
Discussion: Have the annual meeting announced in the bulletin and try to schedule it as part of the regular sessions. Continue to contact the administrators by letter and better yet by phone prior to August.

• Barb Audley announced that John Horvath will be working at UNK as distance education specialist.
